Spring 2015 Mainstage - Alice in Wonderland
Original script and score by Tim Nelson. Adapted from Lewis Carroll's novel "Alice," the unflappable young heroine takes a tumble down an enchanged rabbit hole to an off-kilter world of punctual rabbits and mad tea parties, where playing cards hold court and nothing is as it seems. This whimsy adventure is a favorite of generations of children, adults and psychoanalysts! Join us for Alice in Wonderland. It is just good, mad fun!
Showcase Troupe - Registration, March 11, 2015
MYART Showcase Troupe is a select troupe of young performers that functions as MYART's outreach program. The main goal of Showcase Troupe is to enrich and broaden community awareness of the performing arts. Showcase Troupe members receive intense training in all three areas of performance: dance, voice and acting, invaluable performance experience, and strong sense of community awareness, responsibility and ensemble.
What is MYART?
Musical Youth Artist Repertory Theatre (MYART) is a community-based, non-profit, educational organization that provides young people the opportunity to be active participants in the performing arts. MYART supplements education in the performing arts. Though historically underfunded, we believe this to be a vitally important part of any child's curriculum. Each year MYART presents three main-stage productions with casts of 160 to 300 participants. Multiple leads and large ensemble casts allow all participants to shine.
A Message from our Artistic Director
Many of our performers have had no previous theatre training and may have thought themselves too shy to recite in class or lead a group. MYART uses creative dramatics and training in voice, dance and acting to help students discover their own power as individuals.
